It is just the beginning of the cherry season… Lucky enough, we are renting a villa with a lovely cherry tree!! We spent few hours harvesting the cherries and made a delicious crumble! We spent few hours harvesting the cherries and then we made a delicious crumble!

  • 500 gr of cherries

  • 60 gr of rice flour

  • 40 gr of chestnut flour

  • 40 gr of almond powder

  • 80 gr of (vegetal) butter

  • 30 gr of flaked almond


  • Preheat the oven to 180C
  • Cut cherries in 2 and remove the seeds.
    Place them in a ovenproof dish.
  • In a large bowl, place the flours, almond powder, and sugar. Mix well.
    Taking a few cubes of butter at a time rub into the flour mixture. Keep rubbing until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Add almonds flaked and mix carefully.
  • Add this mixture over the cherries. Add few almond flaked on the top.
  • Bake in the oven for 40-45 minutes until the crumble is browned and the fruit mixture bubbling.
