Making our own almond milk has the following advantages:

  • The taste is far superior to store bought brands,
  • It does not contain preservatives,
  • It is cheaper than buying it in stores,
  • It is far more sustainable as you avoid packaging… And even more if you buy your almond in bulk.

Do not throw the leftover almond pulp and keep it! Have a look to my guide of recipes with almond pulp.

You can make the same recipe with nuts, hazelnuts or cashew, …

  • 150 gr of raw almonds (non salty)

  • 1 L of water

  • 1 teaspoon of vanille extract

  • 5 dates

  • Soak the almonds in water all through the night.
  • Drain and thoroughly rinse the almonds under cold water.
  • Blend almonds with fresh water, vanilla extract and dates.
Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend at the highest speed for 2 minutes. The almonds should be a very fine meal, and the water should be white and opaque.
  • Strain and press the almond mixture with tea towel or a nut bag into a large bowl.
  • DO NOT THROW the leftover almond pulp (called okara)! Have a look to my guide of recipes with almond pulp.
